Information for Weight Loss and Health
Health care, or health care, whichever term you prefer, is the prevention, treatment and management of sickness using the facilities offered by the medical, nursing and allied health professions. The World Health Organizations definition is a little different and refers more to the prevention of illness and services to encourage this, in addition to intervention that should be available to a single individual as well as a whole population. Any collective group of medical professionals and services dedicated to providing this would be termed a health care system.
The expression health care has not always been used though and prior to this is it was often just referred to medicine or the health sector but this was used more by English speaking nations. Even in most developing countries there is a form of health care provision for everyone whether they are in a position to pay or not. Established in 1948, The National Health Service in the United Kingdom was the world’s first general health care system provided by administration.
A system second to this, according to The WHO is the one initiated in Italy where a compulsory system of insurance which the administration funds, but at a relatively low cost per individual, is used. Two other systems like that in Italy, both using the name Medicare, one in Australia and the other in Canada were started between the late 1960’s and the early 1980’s. All the same, these systems of health care where everyone benefits from a government based service contrast starkly with those in America where almost all health care is paid for through the provision of insurance schemes or privately. people who work in health care include all professionals whose job it is to uphold life, treat and cure illness and try to improve the health of people. The collective term for this is the health care industry but the word industry may not necessarily be the best one to use.
The health care industry is one of the world’s biggest and fastest-growing industries generally consuming at least ten percent of gross domestic product of most developed nations, health care can form a large part of a country’s economy. America bucks this trend with, back in 2003, a health industry responsible or over 15 percent of gross domestic product but this is anticipated to rise considerably by 2016 when it will almost one fifth of The United States GDP.
This is causing problems for large numbers of Americans with one hundred eighty million currently seeking adequate health care provision and it is also their single biggest worry. The steep increases in the health care system in The United States almost contributed to the bankruptcy of the giant car manufacturer General motors. In this example some hard Union negotiations, compromises and the closing down of their finance arm GMAC meant this action wasn’t needed. A nutritious and wholesome balanced diet is a key to good health. A healthy diet could treat underlying causes of diseases and restore one to wholenes.
Workers in The United States place this as their number one priority when looking for a prospective employer and often will move to a lower paid position just to better their medical care. The health of the people on this planet should be something that is founded on prevention rather than cure, a case of being proactive as apposed to reactive.
