Disposable plastic bags have a very short history, many people may not realize about this fact. These plastics have become the environmental problem a few decades ago as they are now. So the industrialized cost became very low. Couple of decades ago these bags were seen very rarely in the retail shops, but now they have become very normal in the retail shops. Polyethylene plastic bags are commonly used in all the retail outlets. These bags are used as grocery bags.

The root for most of the environmental problem is these polyethylene bags which are made of petroleum by products. These bags release highly toxic chemicals and take significantly longer time to degrade or break down.

The science of chemistry advances, the older plastics formula has been improved with new advanced engineering. The newer formulas for today’s polyethylene plastic bags are being tested and developed.

The bags have become most popular to carry out goods from retail stores. There are many other types of plastic bags which break down very quick and do not have any issues of toxic by product that polyethylene bags do. These other bags are made of plastics which are derived from raw materials such as cellulose which is made from wood pulp, starches and vegetable oils.
